…how I became a LS treating homeopath
It started with a spot
Sometime around 2017, I found a teeny tiny nearly invisible little bump just next to my clitoris that was very painful to touch for such a small thing. I was also experiencing slight itching, but I thought that’s just the way it is, what with having dry and sensitive skin in general.

The error of the doctor
I went to my gyno, who couldn’t even see the bumpy thing, said everything seems alright and thought of nothing better than giving me a steroid cream for yeast (which I don’t think I had, not having any discharge and all). Anyway, I used it diligently for four weeks, which was the maximum time recommended, and during this time I experienced no itching at all. Sadly, by the time I finished, itching came right back and as a bonus now I had rawness in the ridges where labia minora and majora meet.
The full-blown inferno
Several months later, after a traumatic and stressful time in my life, I have experienced the inferno that is a full-blown LS flare which lasted for quite a few weeks. Having lost trust in my doctor, I thought of pulling out the mirror and turning to father google. I already had some dark/purplish patches from a few years earlier, but I thought those were just some kind of bruising. This time though, I discovered white patches too, and searching google images supplied the answer I was looking for.

Desperate for relief
Desperate for relief and more information I joined all the LS groups on Facebook that I could find, although my holistic background and general experience with mainstream medicine didn’t allow me to last long in some of the orthodox ones.
A glimmer of hope
Finally, I found Allicia Mae Cain’s borax group that has been sadly taken down as a result of the recent witch hunt on natural medicine. This group was so inclusive and open-minded that I felt right at home.
Over time, as my situation stabilized, my symptoms have only very slowly calmed down. It took nearly a year but even the itching has gone at last.

I just couldn’t do nothing
Hearing all the stories and the intense struggles of so many women has awakened in me a desire to help people with this awful disease. Although I have graduated my homeopathy training in 2011, I was on a sabbatical for some time. Late in 2018, I decided to renew my practice to specialize in the autoimmune conditions that I have my own experience with – asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, interstitial cystitis, lichen sclerosis, and fibromyalgia.
Why I love homeopathy
My training allows me to work with nearly all conditions bar those where surgery is needed since homeopathy is a complete healing system. But I focus mainly on those that I have the most knowledge in, and in return, working with people who suffer the same conditions allows me to learn more about them. LS, however, is the one that remains to be my pet peeve as for someone with a life-long passion for the psycho-bio-social factors of disease I’ve gained a unique perspective on why such conditions develop, what are they signaling to us, and why they affect predominantly women. My intention is to share and explore this angle here.
Homeopathy can help
Being a professional homeopath I have a certain skill set that can be applied to naturally resolve various conditions without long-term side effects. The efficacy of homeopathy is quite high at around 80% in regards of complete or at least significant reduction of symptoms. In clinical studies it usually comes out with comparable efficacy to modern western medicine, with the added benefit of being natural, relatively gentle and safe. The great benefit is that it actually strengthens the overall level of health and addresses disease at the root cause, rather than just covering up symptoms while pushing pathology deeper into ever more vital organ systems.

My wish for all
My hope is that we each receive the healing that is possible, where possible. A big part of my work is redirecting people back to their inner authority, own themselves and their emotions, and to reconnect with their Soul intended journey, so I always encourage people to be discerning and to choose who they work with based on trust, their gut sense, and compatibility. I believe the relationship we have with our therapists is as important as the modality they use. I only work with a few people at any given time, and I make referrals to more suitable colleagues or modalities where appropriate, as my clients healing journey is also my journey.
Reach out
You are always welcome to reach out to me if you think my reflection on your particular situation might be helpful. I can make a personalized assessment of your etiology – why your condition developed, what were the contributing factors, and make an educated assessment of what might be necessary to address and how. This awareness can be a key empowering component in healing and can be quite therapeutic in its own right. The feedback has been great so far and people find this very helpful!

I have LS. Use of steroid has put me in TSW . I blame my PCP . This had been since November 2019
What is TWS? I have LS but stopped using the steroid. I have no itching anymore.
There are women who say the steroid should be used even when no itching is present to prevent progression of the disease and prevent cancer. I’m confused and always prefer natural ways of healing.
Topical steroid withdrawal = TSW. If there is any reliable evidence that steroids prevent cancer or disease progression I haven’t seen it. Maybe you’ll find this of interest https://deepsoulhealing.eu/what-they-dont-want-you-to-know-about-conventional-lichen-sclerosis-treatment/
Yes, that does sadly happen with conventional treatment…
Does your work apply to lichen simplex cronicus ?
Absolutely, Regina! I work with all vulvo-vaginal disorders as well as hormonal and autoimmune issues.
